Collecting and sorting glasses for the Lions Club is more than a project after a meeting. For more than 80 years, Lions have been collecting, sorting, distributing eyeglasses to those in need. Often, a simple pair of glasses can bring the world into focus and in developing countries, a pair of glasses may cost as much as a month’s wages.
Eyeglasses are collected, sorted and taken to Volunteer Optometrists in Service to Humanity, a worldwide organization. “We facilitate the provision and the sustainability of vision care worldwide for people who can neither afford nor obtain such care.”
